Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course | Fredericksburg TX
There's a lot to like about the new Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course. Thanks to nearly $2 million in renovations, it's been transformed into one of the finest municipal courses in Texas. The course has been lengthened to a 6,686 yards, Par 71 design. Fairways have been carefully sculpted to reward good shot placement. Greens are firm and fast. The course now has 46 bunkers and water on 10 of the 18 holes. Add it all up and you have an exceptional, resort-like golf experience without those resort prices.
Golfers of all skill levels will love the new look of Lady Bird. We've even added a set of tees for a greater variety of play. But don't let its good looks fool you—challenges and surprises await around every dog leg.
The front nine features rolling terrain, with plenty of up-and-down play. #4 is a masterful recreation of the famous Redan hole in Scotland. Golfers will need to carry bunkers guarding the green. #6 is a signature Par 3 that stretches 194 yards, part of it over Live Oak Creek.
The back nine, while flatter, offers challenges of a different kind, including a wide array of bunkers. #14 is the last Par 5 on the course, stretching 616 yards from the back tees. Its double dogleg requires precise shot placement. #16 is considered our signature hole by many. Water will grab anything that comes up short, but you can bail out to the left. In short, you'll find plenty to test your shot-making skills while enjoying the gorgeous Hill Country landscape.

A wonderful course that captures the beauty of the surrounding landscape. It's truly a hidden gem that more golfers need to experience. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our outing. The course was in excellent shape and the added bunkers were well placed. Most approach shots rewarded accurate placement without making it unreasonable for average golfers. The green were deceptively quick and true. I try to play a new course once or twice a month but I will return to play this one again and probably again after that.
My family and I had a great time today playing golf today. The best thing was that all staff welcomed my two young girls 5 and 9 playing a round of golf. They had a great time seeing all the great wildlife on the course. We had a delious lunch at the turn. The chef even made my daughter a special pizza that was not on the menu. Course was in great condition. Price is very reasonable. Will come back again. Thanks Lady Bird Johnson Golf Course for a great experience.
My grandson and I played 9 holes this afternoon. Beautiful course. Really enjoyed playing. We will be back.
